Evening Services in 2016

March 2, 2016 by Jon Law

While my laptop is out of action it is difficult to regularly do the Daily Devotionals! I hope you have found these helpful and I will be asking for feedback in the coming weeks to see if it is something that we should keep going!

In the meantime, I thought it would be interesting to let you all know what is happening in our Evening Communion Services this year! These take place from 6:30 to 7:30 on the first Sunday of every month. Last month we looked at the importance of wrestling with questions as believers, and I asked everyone to come up with one question that they would like us to explore together during the course of the year. I have summarised the questions as follows and I am so excited about exploring the following together…

March: What does it mean to practice the presence of God?

April: How do you keep strong in the faith when life is hard?

May: Why does God send good people to Hell?

June: How can I grow in Christlikeness, particularly when the Bible and prayer seem fruitless?

July: What was the point of animal sacrifice?

August: Why do we find it so hard to forgive?

September: How much does God care about what I do with my life?

October: How can God possibly love us so much?

November: Why am I never satisfied?

December: Where on earth is Heaven?

Now, each question that was asked has different nuances and focuses in how they were worded and these will definitely be explored when we meet, but I hope this list whets your appetite for some good reflections in God’s word throughout the year!

We start this Sunday evening! See you there!
